Services
DSS provides the following services for students:
- Assessment of your disability accommodation needs, using the information
gathered from your documentation and intake interview
- Approval and coordination of accommodations
- Communication with college staff, faculty, and community agencies
in behalf of DSS students
- Facilitation of referrals for support services on and off campus
- Assistance with problem-solving concerning educational barriers you
may be facing
- Advocacy for medical withdrawal or a grade of "incomplete"
if you are absent or unable to complete class work because of disability
issues
You, the student are responsible for contacting both the DSS office and
your instructors if:
- Disability issues cause you to be absent from class for more than
two days and
- You will need DSS advocacy services
DSS must have thorough documentation
from your attending physician or other authorized specialist in order
to advocate for extended time to complete assignments or an "incomplete"
or medical withdrawal grade change, or to give you other advocacy support.
The documentation must clearly state the
medical necessity for any of these actions.

Services we do NOT provide
- Personal-care attendants
- Equipment and software for off-campus use
- Learning Disability Testing
- Transportation
- Tutoring services
- Financial assistance
- Escorts to and from class
- Modified Coursework
