New beginnings are exciting and stressful, too. The DSS staff and I wish to extend a warm and sincere welcome to BCC to our new students with disabilities. It is our hope that you can use this website and our complete student handbook as a continuing reference to assist you in organizing the steps you must take to initiate and sustain your classroom accommodations.

The website and student handbook have both been produced with faculty and staff in mind. We recognize that our faculty and staff are supportive of students with diverse backgrounds—including those with disabilities.

This site will provide BCC faculty and staff with answers regarding DSS procedures, classroom accommodations, and clarify responsibilities of the college, the student and the faculty in providing those accommodations.

Students and faculty alike, if you have any questions regarding support services offered by DSS, please feel free to ask any of our staff. We are a resource and we enjoy assisting those who need information.

Disability "PRIDE" is important to us. In our campus setting, P-R-I-D-E means "Promoting the Routine Inclusion of Disability in Education." Share your goals with us and become part of a team to develop PRIDE and self-actualization.

Welcome! We are happy to have you as part of our campus community!

Sincerely,

Susan Morgan Gsmoleji
